Misaki Tsuruya (鶴屋ミサキ) is one of the protagonists of GaruGaku. who is in the unit South2. Her character is based on Girls2 member Misaki Tsuruya.

Appearance []
Misaki wears a pink tie as well as a pink highlighted school jumper. Her skirt is dark blue which is also accented with pink highlights. Her long brown hair is done into three braids, with a dark purple scrunchie holding them up. She has pink eyes.
For her training outfit, Misaki has a highlighted pink white tracksuit, along with white sneakers.
In the live action which takes place a year after the events of the anime, Misaki's hair has changed drastically, having short light brown hair. Her uniform is a white polo long-sleeved shirt with the school's logo on the left side of her chest. She wears a pleated navy blue and light blue tie and wears a matching skirt. Her knee-length socks are white with two blue lines and she wears brown loafers.

Misaki is a very responsible person, due to her being the Student Council President. She works tirelessly to perfect every performance and is a hard worker.
Like her catchphrase "Absolutely perfect", Misaki aims for everything to be perfect. She creates a standard for what other students should be like and dislikes when they go below these standards.

Misaki is a student at St. Girls Square Academy where she is in the unit South2 alongside Youka Ogawa, Kurea Masuda, and Kira Yamaguchi. She is also the Student Council President.
Synopsis[]
3 Member south2 and Disbandment:[]
Misaki passes by Youka, leaning on the railings on the school rooftop. Youka tells Misaki that she won't be able to perform due to her injury. Misaki begs to differ, saying that South2 would be incomplete. However, Youka says that the current South2, with Misaki, Kurea, and Kira, is perfect as it is. Youka leaves, and Misaki stays behind, worried. This conversation is caught by several students and create a stir around the school. Articles claiming the two fought and how south2 have become a 3 member unit. Despite this, Misaki continues her activities as is and conceals her emotions.
Partaking in the summer training camp, along with the other student council members, they would try to create order and continue with their activities. While holding a charity event at their school, the three south2 members are caught in traffic and have stopped moving. Misaki immediately feels a huge fall on their reputation as they watch rookie team east2's popularity rise.
The school festival happens soon after and the workload has visibly become tougher for the 3 student council members. While Kurea grumbles, Misaki claims they must remain 'perfectly perfect' though A.I Misaki says that it may have been best if Youka were present. In the midst of the school festival, rumors begin to rise yet again. This time, students overhear that south2 are to disband.
While Misaki is in the student council office, she is surprised to see Youka enter. The two begin to argue about the disbandment but they soon reconcile after Misaki finally reveals her true feelings. She had always wanted Youka to return because her idea of perfect needed Youka. At the assembly on the 2nd day of the festival, the members claim they have an announcement. This initially worries many of the students, most especially big fan Toa, however they are eased when they reveal that Youka has returned.
Girls Arena[]
The south2 members go up against east2 and west2 to stand on the Girls Arena. However, much to everyone’s shock, everyone draws with 19.99 points each. Though Misaki is initially shocked, she looks at the teacher wondering what decision is to be made. At that moment, Toa decides that they perform together instead, as one unit. Ultimately agreeing, the girls perform as Girls2 for the first time on the Girls Arena with “Centimeter”. Welcomed and loved by the audience who ask for an encore, they perform “Tsunagu Tsunagu”, Girls2 version of east2’s “Tsunagu”.
Though their performance together is short lived. Toa is surprised to see Youka and Misaki packing their belongings. They explain to her that they will be studying abroad in New York, to perfect themselves even more. Toa, overwhelmed by the sudden information exclaims what will happen to Girls2. They continue to explain that the others all plan to perform and study abroad and how Ran and Yuzuha will be remaining there. Ultimately overtaken by grief, she runs away.
As they say their goodbyes, everyone wonders if Toa were to appear but whilst they wait, Misaki passes the student council president role to Ran who becomes surprised. In the end, Toa appears and they give her a word of encouragement, allowing her to see them off with a smile.
